Writing property descriptions, press releases, web content and Realtor Bios has been a perfect career choice for me, as I have an extensive background in real estate, beginning on the administrative side, then moving into the corporate marketing department as a copy writer for one of the top brokerages in the nation, and finally into a career in residential sales.
Since branching out on my own to become a freelance writer in 2008, I have been fortunate enough to work with a variety of individuals, businesses and publications. Learning more about new industries, writing about an array of different topics, and working directly with many long-term clients that have become friends are just a few of the things that have made it all worthwhile.
Apart from making me realize I have an entrepreneurial spirit and a love for meeting new people, my experience as a freelance writer and business owner has taught me that the most effective marketing is to simply provide my clients with a superior standard of support and service. With a commitment to the highest professional standards and a constant focus on exceeding the expectations of my clients, I have built a solid business that is mostly based on referrals and repeat customers.
My work is informed by my bachelor’s degree in English, which I earned from North Carolina State University, the master’s degree I earned from National University and the real estate licenses I held in both California and North Carolina. Spending time with my family, surfing, reading, playing golf, traveling and mountain biking are some of my favorite pastimes outside of work. In the past I have supported a number of charities, including the Surfrider Foundation; Love is Bald, the Sunshine Kids Foundation, The Charitable Foundation, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Friends of Scott Foundation, and Children’s Smiles.
