Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage Makes it Happen for Make-A-Wish

Agents, Staff Raise over $12,000 in Funds

With the impact of the pandemic making in-person fundraisers impossible, 2020 has been a particularly difficult time for local charitable organizations. In the past, agents and staff from Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage helped sponsor a fundraiser at Waterman’s Brewing, featuring company President Tim Milam as a celebrity bartender.

“This year, because of Covid, we couldn’t hold the event,” said Barbara Pugh, a local Realtor with 15 years of experience and a Make-A-Wish volunteer for the past seven years. “I was inspired by the Giving Tuesday movement, and I still wanted to help so I reached out to my fellow Sea Coasters through email. I’m proud to say the response has been overwhelming.”

At the time of this writing, the agents and staff had raised over $12,000 in funds to support the foundation, which was formed to grant the wishes of children with life threatening diseases. “More agents have said they plan on donating, and we are beyond excited and grateful,” adds Pugh, who helped sponsor the event at Waterman’s for two years. “Thanks to the generosity of my colleagues, at least one and hopefully two children will get their wishes this year.”

Milam kicked off the fundraising efforts with an email, offering to match up to $4,500 in funds raised by the agents and staff. “I am consistently humbled by the generosity and selflessness of everyone in the Sea Coast family. This has been an extremely challenging year, especially for local charities, as in-person events are such a critical component of their fundraising efforts. I could not be prouder of my team for coming together to help support Make-A-Wish in their time of need, and I’m hoping to be back behind the bar next year,” said Milam.

Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage has a long track record of service to the community. Another recent effort launched with $5,000 in funds from Milam brought desperately needed assistance to the victims of the Gulf hurricanes.
